Tervuren.

Ronde van Vlaanderen museum.

Sadly, I did not get much from Luxembourg.

NOT a rear derailleur.

Can you name this part?

Final day in Belgium.

January 5th, 2009

It has been a total time suck the last couple of weeks.

A vortex of cyclocross, racing, travel, racing.

Not keeping up on the computer work.

Really good videos and text over at Embrocation cycling journal.
I just saw Jeremy Dunn off to the UK for a week before he heads to Boston and then over to Portland, Oregon. Let the good times roll.

It really started snowing and I awoke to a foot of powder here in Westerlo.

Stolen from the internets. The race yesterday in Tessenderlo was fast (again) and icy. I did not race well though I tried my hardest. All the riders in their new kits had me confused. With 3 to go I thought I was being doubled and sat up to let the riders pass. Then I realized it was just the dudes I had dropped a lap ago!

ha!

I am going to negotiate the snowed in little town, head back over to Stijn’s house and pack my bikes and gear.

My pal Jeremy Dunn is over here doing some documenting.

Nice little video from our trip down to Luxembourg up on his website.

Embrocation cycling journal’s website is here.

Middelkerke report + photo dump!

December 30th, 2008

I finished in front of Unai Yus yesterday.

Not a huge accomplishment in itself. But, Unai Yus has been at the back of many a PRO cx race for many, many a year.

Is this my fate? A decade of trying not to get doubled?

Middelkerke was more of what is becoming the same here. Ice, Ice, Ice. Short course, slick icy corners. Bunch of French riders drove over the border to race as the cx was on the North Western coast. Driscoll and Trebon get crashed out at the start, Page unclips and I almost gave him a push. I called JP to win it in Middelkerke but, an un timely flat cost him. I went looking for a dopingcontrole list after the race and the dozen UCI officials laughed at me.

“no list, no list.”

What a fucking joke. I swear they are always surprised when I am looking for the list.

I’ve dumped a bunch of photos and videos from the last week of racing and riding on Flickr.

Got a rub from a Belgian miner today.

Watched the Azencross on TV after eating dinner, amazing. I’m super sketched out with the icey ice courses. I’ve been pretty skittish since breaking my ribs last year. Some one was telling me I don’t look so comfortable in the corners. I’ll admit it, I’m not.

damn, it is late. need to sleep.

Big shout out to Jeremy Powers for the killer ride in Loenhout today. Nice.

Made it on the front page.

December 28th, 2008

Of a Belgian photo site. I fell on those guys and they thought it was the funniest shit ever.

Picked up Jeremy Dunn today in Aarschot.

Went on a spin, made some food, getting ready for Middelkerke tomorrow.

Watched as Bart Aernouts crashed Jon Page out in Diegem tonight. Man, JP cannot get a break. At least he got back in the race and enjoyed himself.

More tomorrrow night.

Last minute supporters cards!

December 27th, 2008

Pieter pulled through and got these supporters cards whipped up for me with only a few days notice.

Thanks Pieter, if you are in Belgium and looking to get your supporters cards made shoot him an email.

Not so detailed (no sponsor images, etc.) and single sided. He did a kick ass job working with limited resources and a timeline! Thanks again!

Another HUGE shout out to Joe Sales. I should have gotten these done months ago. Thanks for the image Joe. Talk more soon when I get home in a couple weeks.
